Styles of Slate Roof Tiles

Standard Pattern Style: Here the slate tiles are of same length and width. .
Random Width Style: Here the tiles are of same length but the widths are of different sizes.
Staggered Butt Style: Here the slate tiles' lengths or colors or shapes are different. In other words, tiles of different lengths or different colored slates or different patterned slate tiles are fixed on the roof. The bottom exposed edge of the roof is staggered. The degree of stagger can vary from roof to roof. In the pic below, staggered butt roof is shown with 3 lengths of slate tiles (16", 18" and 20").
In the picture below, the roof top is made of slate tiles of different colors of random width, and new and salvaged slates in a staggered butt style.

Ragged Butt Style: Same as staggered butt style. The only difference is that here the exposed edge is cut into random shapes or angles.
Mixed Shapes Slating Style: As the name suggests, here slate tiles of the same length and width, but of different shapes are used.
Patterned Style: Here the slate tiles can be given different colors and different patterns are drawn over it and fixed on to the roof to display unique designs which are very attractive and create landmark roofs.
