Number of Slate Tiles Required
In order to lay slate floor in bathroom you must exactly know how much
slate tiles are required for flooring. In order to find out the number of slate tiles required, take the measuring tape and get the length and breadth of the bathroom floor. Get the square footage of the area by multiplying these numbers. Now by knowing the square footage of the slate tile you can calculate the number of tiles required. For this just divide the square footage of the bathroom with that of slate tiles. Make sure to purchase more than required number of slate tiles for bathroom flooring.
Make the Adhesive
To lay slate floor in bathroom intact forever, slate tiles must be adhere to the floor with some sort of adhesive. In the category of adhesives there is nothing better than the mortar. Take a bucket and prepare a mortar mixture. Now with the help of trowel spread the mortar on the bathroom floor. Take the straight edge and spread the mortar evenly on the floor. Now with the help of teeth edges make some texture on the mortar.

At the end of the project close to the edge you may required different size of slate tile to fill the gap. Take the measurement and cut the slate tiles accordingly.
Apply Grout on Slate Floor
Before grouting seal the
slate floor. Slate floor in bathroom is not complete without grouting. Grouting fills the gap between slate tile on the floor where to have placed the spacer. Before grouting remove all the spacers and apply grout to the whole slate floor in the bathroom. Take the edging tool for smoothing the grout and push this to between the slate tiles. Once you have applied the grout let it dry. Wipe off any extra grout on the floor after it completely dries out. Take damp cloth to remove grout from the surface of slate floor in bathroom.
